Inputs and formula

Monthly hours recovered = task frequency × minutes per occurrence ÷ 60.
Monthly gross value = recovered hours × founder hourly value.
Monthly net benefit = gross value + estimated error/rework savings − monthly cost; payback = setup cost ÷ monthly net benefit.

Worked example

A task repeated 24 times for 35 minutes recovers 14 hours per month. At a $150 founder-hour value, that is $2,100 of gross time value before delegation cost and rework savings.

Planning estimate caveat

Time recovered is not automatically revenue. Test quality, review time, reliability, implementation risk, and whether the founder actually redirects the time to a higher-leverage decision.
