AirJoule Expands into AI Cooling, Power and Water Infrastructure
AirJoule Buys BitSink to Add Data-Center Cooling and Power Operations
AirJoule Technologies has acquired BitSink, expanding its operations into cooling, electrical and modular infrastructure for artificial-intelligence and high-performance-computing data centers.
The transaction gives AirJoule a revenue-producing business that has deployed more than 220 megawatts of cooling and power capacity across more than 80 North American sites, the company said. BitSink also brings customer relationships and U.S. manufacturing capabilities.
AirJoule has focused on atmospheric water generation technology powered by waste heat. With BitSink, the company is seeking to address the overlapping demands for cooling, electrical capacity and water management at higher-density computing facilities.
Data-center operators are increasingly weighing liquid-cooling systems, electrical infrastructure and modular deployments as AI workloads increase rack density. Water availability has also become a consideration in the development and permitting of new sites.
BitSink designs and deploys closed-loop dry coolers intended to reduce dependence on evaporative cooling. AirJoule said it is evaluating whether its atmospheric water-generation technology could be paired with BitSink’s infrastructure for data centers in water-constrained areas.
No integrated AirJoule-BitSink commercial product is currently available, according to the company. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
